Rosebery is a small mining town on the West Coast of Tasmania near Waratah, Zeehan, Tullah, Queenstown and Strahan. Rosebery is located app. 25 km north-east of Zeehan, on the northern end of the West Coast. Rosebery nestles in a temperate rain-forested valley between three mountains popular with bushwalkers being Mt Murchison to the east, Mt Black to the north and Mt Read to the south. Mt Read is well known for having the highest annual rainfall in Tasmania. Rosebery is a good base for exploring the natural wonders of the north-west, including Cradle Mountain, the Franklin-Gordon River scheme, Henty Dunes, Macquarie Harbour (West Beach) and the magnificent Hellyer Gorge rainforests. Visitors in fully self contained recreational vehicles (RVs) can park for up to 3-nights at Stitt Park on the Murchison Highway. This lovely little spot is close to a river.
