Ringarooma is a small farming town in North-East Tasmania that is an RV friendly town close to the larger towns of Scottsdale and Branxholm. The Ringarooma Recreation Ground offers free overnight stops for fully self-contained vehicles (vans must have tie own toilet, shower, water, sleeping and cooking facilities). Ringarooma is a small town in north-eastern Tasmania, with this district opened up to farming in the 1860s, with the township itself founded in 1882. Ringarooma was initially known as Krushka Town before being renamed Ringarooma in November 1888, taking on the name of a coastal town near Bridport, which was renamed Boobyalla. Ringarooma has fertile soil for growing a range of vegetables and for raising cattle. Ringarooma is surrounded by farming country near mountains such as Mount Victoria and Ben Lomond where you will find excellent bushwalks. If you have time, we recommend a stop at this excellent free, quiet and relaxed camping area for fully self-sufficient recreational vehicles. It offers unpowered sites only, and it is free to stay for up to 14 days. Pets are permitted if kept on a lead and under control at all times. NO TENT camping. The free RV area at Ringarooma is located at the former Ringarooma Football Ground, just a few minutes drive from the centre of this small rural farming town.
